From disciplinarity to transdisciplinarity in concepts and definitions.

ABSTRACT: The success of modern science in solving complex multifactorial problems of nature and society largely depends on the integration of knowledge and methods of separate scientific disciplines. When the level of university science development comes up with the level of academic science, the search for the solution of integration problem of scientific disciplines has shifted to the university environment. In recent years in Russia, conferences are increasingly held in which the participants are trying to carry out scientific research of framework and identification features of science interdisciplinary interaction, as well as to determine institutional foundations and prospects of interdisciplinary science development in the modern scientific space. In this respect All-Russian Scientific Conference "Interdisciplinarity in the modern social-humanitarian knowledge" has become indicative and taken place in Southern Federal University (SFU) in Rostov-on-Don in June 2016. Participants of this conference have succeeded in formulating and constructively discussing problems of interdisciplinary interactions as well as to disclose general requirements for interdisciplinary research and publications, especially in sciences of human and society. Solutions of some of these problems are seen by the authors of the article in clear and coherent content of certain scientific approaches to understand the world as well as in accepting their new classification.

ABSTRACT: This chapter aims to outline the methodologies for solving the most important challenges in the field of innovation management – assessment of innovative events and activities and selection of optimal calendar periods for carrying them out. A transdisciplinary approach is used as a way of solving this problem.

Basic principles of this approach, principles of building transdisciplinary models of informational and temporal order units will be covered, thereby making it possible to represent development as a multiplex or a totality of M-waves. Use of such models allows to offer special methodologies - an innovative chart of business system development. Results of a retrospective analysis of several enterprises are shown, which confirm the effectiveness of this methodical technique, and an example of building an innovative chart of development is presented, including the calculation of schedule periods for development and implementation of investment, as well as mandatory critical points and control points in the future development of business systems.

The limits to growth. 40 years later: transdisciplinary rethinking

ABSTRACT: In 1968, a group of scientists and public men organized a non-profit organization known as the Club of Rome. Famous reports of the Club of Rome drew attention of ordinary people and leaders to the necessity to take into account limited supply of planet resources under a constant economic growth. The article analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of the system world view of Club of Rome members and groups of experts, who were instructed to carry out research on global problems of mankind. Proofs of the full potency of ideology systemic transformation was shown which made meaningless the continued use of a mathematical model of "peace" on which numerous studies have been carried out the limits of growth. Attention is drawn to the fact that it was initiated by members of the club and transdisciplinary approach got its development. The assumption is justified that the transition in the activities of the club with the system philosophy to transdisciplinary will contribute to its rebirth. The renew Club of Rome could make its activities more effective if added to the practice reports of the development of transdisciplinary practice technologies that address global socio-political, socio-economic and other problems of the modern mankind. If necessary, these technologies could act as an effective deterrent to international tensions.

Transdisciplinary Improvement of the Present Air Transportation Safety System

ABSTRACT: Despite a low number of airplane accidents in comparison with the overall number of flights in the world, they could not be eliminated. Airplane safety depends on different conditions, which include natural, technical and human factors. Therefore, airplane accidents are connected, mostly, with unforeseen emergencies. Application of transdisciplinary concepts and methods of the transdisciplinary approach to study such accidents made it possible to find out some patterns, connected with individual characteristics of every single plane. These characteristics are determined by year cycles of the natural technical condition change. After special studies its was possible to establish that more than 80 % of airplane accidents and about 100 % of airplane crashes happen in so-called calendar periods of increased sensitivity (PICs). These periods are evenly spread in an individual calendar year of every plane, which begin on the day of its first flight. Specialized computer programs allow to calculate durations of PICs for different planes. Thereby, there is an evidence to introduce transdisciplinary approach to the present airplane safety system. Transdisciplinary improvement of airplane safety can make it possible to eliminate any risks, connected with airplane transportations.

From the Philosophy of Science – to the Imperatives of Sustainable Development

ABSTRACT:The importance of ecological imperative for the safety of stable development of modern society is substantiated through the lenses of transdisciplinarity. The article expands the existing conception of chemical evolution and describes natural mechanisms of directed transformation of the planetary matter. It reveals the meaning of cyclic recurrence of development of super-continents in the geological history of the planet, leading to the formation of the planetary matter required for further active transformation of biological objects, which are supposed to take part in that transformation. An assumption is made and substantiated that stable development is under control of the planetary and extraplanetary objective organizing compounds, which present effective mechanisms of appraisal and compulsion of objects of living and non-living matter to strictly definite results of activity and interactions. The article emphasizes a need of transdisciplinary enforcement of normative compound of social sciences with a focus on correction of knowledge about man and society with further formation of a world-view common to all mankind. It is suggested that revolutionary development of the society built upon the principles of the French Revolution (1792) “Liberty, Equality and Fraternity” will be accomplished by 2016. Transdisciplinary research reveals and substantiates the beginning of the period of steady development of the society, which is based on the principles of ecological, economic and social imperatives.

Risk analyses of UNESCO’s Strategic Goals for 2014-2021

ABSTRACT: The article contains brief description of the present scientific approach currently used to achieve the strategic goals of UNESCO according to the Medium-Term Strategy for 2014-2021(document 37 C/4). The article describes the boundaries of implemented methodological principles. It gives solid explanation why usage of solely monodisciplinary, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary scientific approach does not lead to solution of the UNESCO’s goals. Transdisciplinary picture of the complex multifactor problem that UNESCO tries to resolve represents as one single object. Reservation of oneness of such an object is supported by one universal order that regulates functions of the whole object and its natural elements. According to the  transdisciplinary picture of the world, ecological, social and economical components play the role of natural elements of complex multifactor problem. Therefore, it is reasonable to implement special transdisciplinary models, which reveal the universal order to research the described problem. Such models lead to systematization of quantitative and qualitative characteristics of ecological, social and economical components. In conclusion, the author suggests usage of potential of transdisciplinary technologies in UNESCO’s strategies and activities. These technologies have been developed in national schools of transdisciplinarity and non-governmental organizations, NPO, primarily focused on development and implementation of scientific approaches in natural and social sciences and may significantly increase effectiveness of UNESCO’s activities and illuminate risks in achievement of strategic goals.

Transdisciplinary Aspects of Human World View

ABSTRACT: In the article the attempt to consider the human’s world view as a complex psycho-physiological mechanism of the body, rather than as the result of mind is made. It is assumed that the basis of this mechanism is the reflection and display of a single person in the world. The existence of an ordered structure of the objective and subjective components of constituents controlling the results of the human’s world view is justified. A proposal on the need to organize the recognition of these components as subjects of law, endowed with rights and responsibilities in relation to the human is made.

Transdisciplinary Method of Nondestructive Control of Especially Dangerous, Technically Complicated and Unique Objects

ABSTRACT: To improve the efficiency of methods of nondestructive control of especially dangerous, technically complicated and unique objects it is proposed to use the methods of transdisciplinary systems approach. Transdisciplinary method expects to implement hardware-based control of complex fields of the object. This field is generated upon application of physical fields (electric, magnetic, thermal, acoustic, etc.) that occur during the life of the object. Deviation of the parameters of this field indicates the appearance of force majeure, which could cause an accident at the object.

ABSTRACT: An important part of solving the problem of architectural design is the problem deeper understanding of object-space architecture and space of the area where you want to place the object. To solve this problem it is proposed to use the model of transdisciplinary systems approach. Recommendations, based on the models of this approach at this stage of pre-design analysis, will clarify the ideas and intentions of the author’s project, will significantly reduce the total development time of the project and make the project itself popular and safe.

Timeline of breakthroughs in transdisciplinary ideas and technology

The world has drastically changed in the past 15-20 years. And the changes have primarily been in the concept of economic relations. The economics of a country now more than ever depend on the state of the process of world social economic development. It’s sad when a good strategy for development of a country or a company meets the concrete problems of the world economy (economical and political crisis of countries and alliances). This shows that problems of the modern community, public and private issues with the development of a countries economy, have become difficult multidimensional problems...

Transdisciplinary geopolitical prognoses: correctness and precision

Correctness and precision of trans-disciplinary geopolitical prognoses are determined by two reasons. One of them is connected with pre-determination of events, the other – with pre-disposition to them. For example, spring, summer, autumn, winter’s coming does not depend on us. It is pre-determined. Therefore we succeed in exact forecasting for many years ahead. That is, precise prognosis is possible in case of pre-determined events based on laws of nature.

Transdisciplinary approach as the basis for creating  new rules for the world’s economic relationships

    1. The world’s community is now facing the problem of developing new rules for the world’s economic relations. The problems of a global type demand global thinking, i.e. particularization or changing of the world outlook (Weltanschauung). From this viewpoint, the transdisciplinary approach seems the most reasonable for solving the global problems, as it presupposes the construction of the World’s “image”.

    2. If the idea of the World is assumed as a One World, the mankind is considered to be a natural fragment of the World. The existence and development of all the World’s fragments is examined from the viewpoint of the degree of conformity with the World itself. In this light, the economic relationships among people are based on the awareness that people are the fragments of one single World and of the order in it.

Methods of disciplinary knowledge integration in transdisciplinary research

By the middle of XX century, philosophers of science had discovered that scientific disciplines themselves, as well as discipline interfaces have a great scientific research potential. Further development of science resulted in a creation of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary scientific approaches. These approaches made it possible for the scientists to transfer methods of objects research from one scientific discipline to another. The experience of such a transfer introduced binary disciplines in the present science, such as biophysics, biochemistry, as well as other similar disciplines. However, let’s pay attention to the following fact: creation of interdisciplinary approach contributed to the integration of disciplinary research methods, but didn’t entail the integration of disciplinary knowledge. In other words, disciplinary knowledge remained within its disciplinary frameworks...

    Transdisciplinary Methodology of Futures Studies

    Abstract

    1.  The Future, like the Present, is a stage of the development of a complex system of objects of the alive and lifeless nature on the planet and their heterogeneous interaction.

    2.  In application of the interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary system approaches to the Future exploration many scientists see the way of extricating themselves from the stalemate.

    3.  Studying the quantum world physicists have detected the fact of influence of the researcher on a quantum system.

    4. The previous reasoning showed that a man could exert influence on a condition of separate processes of the Future.

    6.  It is necessary to underline the other important feature of models of the transdisciplinary system approach – their ability to fast transition from the metaphorical-and-geometrical form to the form of display of real processes of the development.

    7.  The report leads us to the following inferences.
